My Hometown- KLUANG
KLUANG-
A town where I had lived for 20 years. It located in Johore. The name of Kluang
was originated from the Malay word “Keluang” which means a type of flying fox or rather a type of
fruit bat. That’s why we called it “Bat Town”.
Kluang is a town and
district located roughly in the middle of the state of Johore in Malaysia. Kluang lies about 110 km
north of Johor Bahru, east-southeast of Batu Pahat, west of Mersing and
south of Segamat. The population of Kluang district now exceeds 250,000
residents and the town itself has over 140,000 residents.
First of all, i would like to
introduce one of the famous place in Kluang. It is Gunung Lambak where a
recreational forest I offen went to. The
mountain is around 510 metre talls and a normal adult should summit the
mountain between one to two hours. It is a peaceful place to visit. This
recreational forest is suitable for picnics, swimming and mountain-climbing.
There is also a small children's playground there. There is a lot of
senior residents went there to practise martial art and ‘Tai Chi’ early in the
morning or else in the evening.
The Gunung Lambak Eco Resort is
located nearby with its cozy chalets. The surrounding of Mount Lambak are
pretty, healthy and relaxing, sometimes
you might even see some white squirrels, hornbill and unique and interesting insects
and plants. I that I had seen a small snake passed by in front of me when I
went for mountain-climbing. It was really a special experience for me to get
close with nature. The Mount Lambak have been preserved very carefully to maintain
its balance in the eco system.
The Gunung Lambak Recreational
Forest is an idyllic location for families and tourists seeking out for a jolly
good spirited and healthy holiday that can bring everyone closer and leave with
a happy smile on their faces. The Gunung Lambak Recreational Forest is a
definite must visit for everyone, locals and tourists alike.
Besides, UK Argo Farm has also been one of the famous place in Kluang. UK farm is a place where we can have zero distance with the sheep, the goat and the green land. We do not need to travel all the way to Australia or New Zealand to see a flock of sheep grazing in the meadow.
UK Agro Farm offer a wide range of
facilities that cater to all individual needs such as restaurant, farm mart,
conference room, chalet, dormitory, barbeque area, open stage, camp site and
karaoke. The place is very clean because of the well maintained by the staff.
Furthermore, Zenxin
Organic Park is also become a destination where a family can enjoy and relax their
mind during the weekend. Zenxin is the
first open-to public organic farm in Malaysia. It has a 100-acre park mainly
composed of vegetable farm and dragon fruit. We can choose to visit the farm on our own, on
foot or by bicycle. I had been there with my friend for cycling. It was fun.
We can find the crop are tropical
fruits such as dragon fruit. There are also planted more than 100 types of
herbs. All of the crops are planted without the use of chemical fertilizers
pesticides. So, Zenxin Organic Park had
prepared the restaurant, farm part and flower nursery to fulfil the visitor’s
organic necessity.
Lastly, Kluang has a shop which is famous
for its coffee and toast. It named Kluang Station RailCoffee. The shop is located just by the Kluang Train
Station in Kluang Town. This
place is patronized by all races and people of all ages even though the boss is
a Chinese.
The aroma of the coffee is so good
and fragrant. They use pure de-husked coffee beans without adding other beans or
corn. After that, the coffee are roasted to perfection before grinding and then
served. There are also selling tea cake, nasi lemak and toast bread. The other dishes
that we can get here are charcoal-grilled toast (bread or bun), half-boiled
eggs, packed nasi lemak and mee siam and curry-puff. Many of residents like to
have a breakfast or high tea at the Kluang Rail Station.
I was born here and I am proud of raised up here, I LOVE my hometown.
